On the 19^th of February a familiarization tour was held especially for media representatives, in pharmaceutical enterprise “Aversi-Rational”. The visitors had an opportunity to view the production process and the laboratory. “Aversi-Rational” founders Paata and Malkhaz Kurtanidze talked to the journalists about all enterprise processes, equipment and work priorities. The journalists were divided into two teams and each group went through a detail introduction of the working principles of the enterprise.

Mr. Paata thanked the journalists for the visit and noted, that the support of the media is very important for the success of the brand:

- Our task is to produce only the highest quality medications at the lowest price possible. Yet , many doctors have doubts about the fact that there can be an
European level of production in Georgia. Therefore, your support is very important , so that people and the medical community have more faith in the local industry.

Mr. Malkhaz noted, that the purpose and aim of the media tour is to bring an objective and reliable information to the people:

- We have a similar tour for doctors, pharmacists and students, however, journalists are the best to bring the information to the people, which is why it is important for us to show our production to the media representatives at the first place.  Our production is focused on quality. Today “Aversi-Rational” has about 300 employees. Here is an annual testing and constant learning process implemented, so we frequently invite foreign specialists to take part in the process. “Aversi-Rational” has a research team for consumer’s and doctor’s interests satisfaction, because our priority is exactly to protect consumer interests.  The medication price has risen due to the fall in the Lari exchange rate and coming out the fact, that we import raw materials from abroad,  but we are trying to maximize our profits from this difference and not to reflect the user’s pocket.

Mr. Malkhaz also spoke about the regulations of prescribing medicines and noted, that he agrees with these requirements, but he believes, that these procedures should be even more simplified , for the consumers to have the opportunity to take the prescription and buy medicines in a more comfortable atmosphere.

After visiting the enterprise, the quality management director of biology, Dr. Natela Qarukhnishvili made a presentation for the journalists about the history and objectives of the industry, its priorities and personnel policy.

- Today’s media tour opened us the door of one large enterprise and we were able to see it’s indoor kitchen and the whole process of drug production. This was doubly important for me as for a journalist  who’s responsibility was to bring the information to the consumers, and as for a consumer, because I am an active user of the medications. Also I should tell you that the doctors constantly have treacherous attitude towards Georgian medications, so It would be nice if such tours are frequently held for medical personnel too, to make them able to see with their own eyes how high-quality production our country has.

Lali Papaskiri Palitra Media:

- It’s my second time visiting “Aversi-Rational”, I remember my first impression-I was looking around the industry amazed. I constantly heard that there was no industry happening in Georgia, but I saw the high-tech equipment, internal infrastructure, how high is the level of protection of the standards starting from the air ventilation , ending with medication production and laboratory work and I was once again assured , that developing Georgia is no worse than the advanced countries regarding to this matter. Although , only one enterprise in not enough for the country to move forward, but it’s a good example to follow. Today , once again I saw , that this industry is never content with what it’s achieved and always strives for developing and progressing.

- I’m proud and happy to see this high level of production in my country. People think, that Georgian label can’t be of high quality, but this day assured us, that if you do your job professionally, judiciously, with love and national spirit, you will surely succeed, and I’m sure that very soon “Aversi-Rational” products will establish themselves in the world market and will compete with many European high-quality industries.

The visit in the enterprise ended with a traditional buffet. Let me remind you that “Aversi-Rational” offered its first medicament in May, 2005. Now “Aversi-Rational” produces medicines of 140 names, 240 positions.

Since 2006, it has been exporting to some of the former Soviet Union and Middle East countries. Also the export area is expanding every year, what is linked to the growth of demand on the production.

In December 2006, “Aversi-Rational” received the “ISO 9001” certificate, in November 2008, after two years of hard work and going through appropriate audits, company gained GMP EU certificate of compliance, which indicates that the production meets European requirements for drug manufacturing and quality control issues.

ISO and GMP compliance conformity control and certification audits are continuous processes, which are carried out at regularly and which “Aversi-Rational” successfully goes through.
